Mission of the PGY1 Pharmacy Residency Program
Our PGY1 pharmacy residency builds on PharmD education to develop clinical pharmacists responsible for medication-related care across a wide range of conditions. Graduates are prepared for board certification and PGY2 residency training.

Learning Experiences
Core required experiences:
- Orientation (6 weeks)
- Internal Medicine I and II
- Critical Care (6 weeks)
- Oncology
- Infectious Diseases
- Administration / Management
- Research (longitudinal)
- Medication Use Evaluation (longitudinal)
- Teaching and Learning (longitudinal)
- Staffing (longitudinal)
Core rotations are typically 4 weeks unless otherwise noted.
Elective experiences (choose 4):
- Neonatal ICU
- Ambulatory Care
- Transitions of Care
- Anticoagulation Clinic (offsite)
- Surgical ICU
- Emergency Medicine
- Ambulatory Oncology
- Solid Organ Transplant (offsite)
- Ambulatory specialties (primary care, rheumatology, cardiometabolic, endocrinology, GI, dermatology, etc.)

Wellness and Resiliency
The PGY1 Pharmacy Residency program supports wellness through mentorship, weekly residency huddles, wellness check-ins, and professional development focused on preventing burnout and supporting well-being.
Residents receive a day off after staffing weekends and participate in social and wellness events throughout the year.
